Final Days in Columbus

It's been a hectic week for the mission team! In the past week, we met on Tuesday and Thursday night from 7-10pm in order to go over the teaching materials. We have 5 days of Chinese/English lessons concerning Noah's ark, including vocabulary, sentences, and reading comprehension questions. We read through all of the lessons as a group, answering the questions together and correcting each other's pronunciation. On Thursday, we also worked on our own personal lesson plans as we prepare to teach our specific age groups. The classes are divided as follows:

Classes (Grade) - Teachers
Dolphin (1st/2nd) - Anna & Elean
Jellyfish (3rd) - Esther & Isaac
Shark (3rd) - Vivian & Norman
Lobster (4th) - Victor & Jacqueline
Whale (5th/6th) - Karen & April

The Dolphin class will actually be learning their ABC's, because they don't know any English, and the Noah's ark lesson material would be too difficult for them.

On Saturday our missions team met at church from 10am-1pm with Jennifer Duann to work on our crafts. This year we will be making paper ravens/doves, big mouth fish out of construction paper, rainbow threaded bookmarks, and gospel bracelets (composed of beads and string). We're very thankful that Jennifer took the time to buy us materials and think of craft ideas!

Sunday night our team met for a combined dinner with our parents at Deacon Larry Ai's house. We were able to share each of our personal prayer and pray together with the parents. It was a great blessing to realize how much we have grown together and how we have truly formed a team that can support and encourage one another. After PJosh answered many of our last-minute questions about packing, Taiwanese food, and other plans, we are more excited than ever to finally leave for Taiwan!

We leave early on Thursday morning. We are flying in two main groups, and here is our itinerary.

Group 1: Victor, April, Esther, Isaac (coming from Detroit)
Leave at 7:15am to Washington DC, then Tokyo
Group 2: PJosh, Deacon Katy, Elean, Norman, Karen, Jacqueline, Vivian, Anna
Leave at 8:00am to Chicago, then to Tokyo

All will convene in Tokyo and then fly together to Taiwan!

Tomorrow we are meeting to work on our testimonies in Chinese. It is our last official meeting before we leave. As the time draws closer and we begin packing, please continue to pray for us! We need your prayer for safe travel, physical health, and also mental and spiritual preparation. Thank you for reading!
